You will have to take the permission from the authority of Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam Office in Joshimath before to trek in this region. Below the age of 14, the children will not be allowed to trek in this region. Maximum five people are allowed in a group for trekking and only two groups are allowed for trekking in a day. Due to the vertical terrain of Nanda Devi, a physical investigation is mandatory for trekking.
